🚨 Are Your Defibrillators Emergency-Ready? 🚨

Over the past week, MISSEDABEAT services has been out in the community, visiting various locations where we've installed defibrillators—including pubs, town centers, homes, parks, businesses, activity centers, and even cemeteries—to ensure they are fully operational and ready for use in an emergency.
All defibrillators in our portfolio are registered on The National Circuit, allowing the ambulance service and the public to locate the nearest life-saving device when every second counts.

🔍 During these checks, we also reviewed the 10 closest defibrillators in each area, and unfortunately, we discovered that a number of them in Newton Aycliffe are not properly maintained. A defibrillator can only save a life if it is fully functional and accessible when needed !!!!!
Defibrillator Guardians—Take Action!
After discussions with the British Heart Foundation, we’ve been advised that defibrillators registered on The National Circuit should be updated monthly. This responsibility falls to the nominated Guardian, who must ensure the system remains accurate and up to date.
If a defibrillator has been activated, the registered Guardian will receive an email alert. However, activation does not always mean the defibrillator was used—it could have been taken to a scene but not deployed. Either way, it's vital to:
✅ Check if the defibrillator was used✅ Replace the pads and other consumables✅ Inspect the battery✅ Ensure it is returned to its correct location✅ Update its status on The National Circuit
If the defibrillator is missing, contact your local ambulance service and mark it as unavailable on The Circuit until it is retrieved and ready for use.

Expanding Our Life-Saving Services
We’re proud to announce that we are introducing Bleed Control Kits to our portfolio, further enhancing safety for those in our communities. Importantly, this addition will come at no extra cost to our service users.
🔴 Why Bleed Control Kits? These kits provide critical first-aid in severe bleeding emergencies, offering immediate help before emergency services arrive. They will be housed in the same cabinets as defibrillators and registered on the GOOD SAM website, ensuring emergency responders can locate and use them swiftly when needed.
💙 We have secured a number of sponsors to help fund these Bleed Control Kits, ensuring they are available in key locations. If you or your business would like to sponsor a kit and make a direct impact on community safety, please get in touch!
Businesses & Organizations—Are You Covered?
MISSEDABEAT services offers a Defibrillator Maintenance Service to check, monitor, and oversee defibrillators, ensuring they remain emergency-ready. Just last week, we raised concerns with a major hotel chain about a potentially faulty device. Despite staff assurances that it was regularly checked, our inspection revealed a critical error requiring replacement. This highlights a major gap in defibrillator upkeep—one that could cost lives.
A huge thank you to The Glow Church, Neales Waste Management, Quercia Limited (Chorley), Calder Valley Skip Hire, and Davidson Aviation, who have taken out service agreements with us. They now have peace of mind knowing their defibrillators will always be ready to save lives—with aim turnaround of 72 hours for any activated device.
If you are a business, community group, or organization with a defibrillator, don't take chances—let us help you keep it in top condition.
