🌟 MISSEDABEAT at the Northern Echo County Durham Together Awards 🌟

We are incredibly proud to have been nominated for Charity of the Year at this year’s Northern Echo County Durham Together Awards. The ceremony, held on 5th December at Hardwick Hall, celebrated the extraordinary efforts of charities working tirelessly to make a difference in their communities.

What makes this nomination even more remarkable is that MISSEDABEAT was founded only in 2023! To be recognized alongside well-established charities like Angel Trust, founded in 2019, and Bringing Back a Smile, established in 2014, is an incredible achievement. It’s a testament to how much we’ve accomplished in such a short time, thanks to the passion and support of our team, volunteers, and community.

MISSEDABEAT is on a mission to provide life-saving defibrillators and raise awareness about cardiac health, and this recognition means the world to us. We set an ambitious goal to place 100 defibrillators—both portable and community-based—by the end of 2024. We are thrilled to share that we’ve surpassed that target, with close to 110 defibrillators now in place! This includes 50 portable and 60+ community defibrillators installed across the country, from Newton Aycliffe to cities like Birmingham and Liverpool.

To be recognized alongside two incredible charities—Angel Trust and Bringing Back a Smile—is a privilege:💛 Angel Trust, dedicated to supporting individuals and organizations in Darlington and County Durham, transforms lives with financial support and community services.💛 Bringing Back a Smile, focusing on families facing life-threatening illnesses, creates precious memories by providing days out and breaks away from treatment.

Congratulations to Angel Trust, the deserving winner of this year’s award! Your commitment to improving lives inspires us all. We also commend Bringing Back a Smile for your heartfelt dedication to families in need.

We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who voted for and supported MISSEDABEAT. This recognition is not just ours—it belongs to all of you who believe in our cause. Together, we’re building stronger, safer communities, one defibrillator at a time.

As we look ahead, we cannot wait to see what 2025 brings for MISSEDABEAT! With many fundraising events already planned, including 25 runners in the Junior Great North Run and 15+ runners in the Great North Run, our team is growing bigger and stronger. This momentum will allow us to support our local communities even more.

We’re always on the lookout for new team members to join our mission. If you’re passionate about making a difference in the North East and beyond, we’d love to have you on board. Together, we can achieve even greater things!

Here’s to continuing the journey, saving lives, and creating lasting change. 💛
