Following the successful installation of a community defibrillator at the Gestamp Tallent Ltd gatehouse last year, MISSEDABEAT is proud to announce an expansion of its life-saving efforts. Thanks to the ongoing collaboration with Gestamp, the initiative is now working to equip all MISSEDABEAT public-access defibrillator cabinets in and around the town and industrial park with Bleed Control Kits.

This vital project was made possible after a productive meeting facilitated by Graham Moore – Site Services & Environment Manager and Stacey Hoggart, Wellbeing Leader at Gestamp. The aim is to ensure that these emergency Bleed Control Kits are readily available in any life-threatening situation. The kits will also be registered on the GODSAM website, which is directly linked to emergency services, allowing for swift response times when every second counts.

Gestamp Tallent Ltd has further demonstrated its commitment to community safety by sponsoring ten Bleed Control Kits, ensuring that this initiative can be implemented effectively and promptly.

Stacey Hoggart and the team at Gestamp Tallent Ltd expressed their strong support for the initiative:

“Collaborating with Mark and the MISSEDABEAT initiative to introduce Bleed Control Kits alongside the existing defibrillators around the town was a no-brainer. Gestamp Tallent Ltd is a cornerstone of the local community, with many residents having friends, family members, or acquaintances working at the company. Our aim is to support the wider community, and prioritising investments in local charities helps to enhance community resilience while fostering a sense of solidarity and care for residents’ well-being.

Projects such as this not only have immediate life-saving potential but also align perfectly with the upcoming Knife Angel exhibition in the town, which raises awareness of the devastating impact of knife crime. After speaking with Mark, it was clear that Bleed Control Kits would be essential not only for incidents related to knife crime but also for industrial accidents, car crashes, and other emergencies where severe bleeding occurs. These kits can play a vital role in saving lives in a range of critical situations. While we hope these Bleed Control Kits are never needed, having them available in case of emergency could make a crucial difference when someone’s life is at stake.”

MISSED A BEAT continues its mission to make the community safer through the provision of defibrillators and other life-saving equipment. This new initiative will further strengthen emergency preparedness, providing an extra layer of protection for residents, workers, and visitors across the area.
