🚨 New Community Defibrillator Installed at Kestrel Court, Newton Aycliffe! 🚨

We’re thrilled to announce the installation of a new community defibrillator at Kestrel Court, Newton Aycliffe, which is available 24/7 for use in any crisis situation. The defibrillator cabinet is located on the left-hand side of the house to the rear, in a spot that is easily visible for quick access.

Before this installation, the closest defibrillator in the area was the one MISSEDABEAT installed at Cobblers Hall pub, located 839 yards (0.7 miles) away. In an emergency, this distance could mean the difference between life and death. By having this new defibrillator available, the response time for nearby residents has been dramatically improved, ensuring quicker access to life-saving equipment.

During routine maintenance today, Mark had the chance to speak with local residents, who expressed their appreciation. One shared, “Time delays accessing a defibrillator could be critical, and having it here is amazing!”

Additionally, while performing checks and discussing the national Circuit Defibrillator Network, Mark identified that the defibrillator installed at the Navy Club near Bluebell Way was not registered on the system. Registration is essential for ensuring defibrillators are visible and accessible to emergency services in a crisis. Mark has since visited the club and will be supporting them to ensure the defibrillator is always available and properly registered on the national circuit going forward.

This new defibrillator at Kestrel Court was generously donated to MISSEDABEAT by the Neville Parade Community Association Group. Mark had the pleasure of meeting Heather Brewster, who handed over the defibrillator and was delighted to hear that it would be turned into a fully accessible community asset. We are incredibly grateful for this support! 🙏

We would also like to thank Ben Simpson, who continues to support MISSEDABEAT by installing these life-saving devices. After overcoming cardiac arrest himself, Ben has recently set up Sparkwise Solutions, a business dedicated to making communities safer. His journey is truly inspiring, and his dedication to helping others is making a real difference. 💪💛

A huge thank you to the dedicated householder who has taken on the role of guardian, ensuring the device is always emergency-ready. 💛 Every new installation like this brings us closer to saving lives in our community.

Let’s continue working together to make our neighborhoods safer! 💓
